I can't believe how fast this week went! I found myself on the treadmill tonight thinking about what I was going to be working on tomorrow. Then I realized, tomorrow was Saturday and I wasn't going to work and I was almost disappointed.

The photo to the left was taken one day on my way home from work. They way the rays were shining down from the clouds was so pretty.

The House They Grew Up In

We've been working diligently on painting the board for the teeter all this week. It's gotten a coat a night and should be ready for use by Monday.

The picture to the right is my dad and my aunt in front of the house they grew up in. It was taken in Maysville, OK last week when we were out there for my grandmother's funeral.

Sorry for the randomness. Yup, that's pretty much my week.

  • My Week... an Update

Well, the new job has been keeping me busy. Plus I've had a ton of stuff to do. Since my dad said I hadn't blogged enough lately, I guess I'll give an update on my week.

The new job is great! I spent most of the week getting things set up and reading up on what I'm going to be doing. I even got to play a little bit. I'm looking forward to this week. I think I'm going to learn a lot more.

I spent my evenings finishing programs and menu cards for Lizabeth and David's wedding which was Saturday.

Oh and the 12 week challenge is starting up again. Wish me luck. I need it! I've completely gotten out of a routine with the new job routine, so I need this motivation to get back on track.

    Down Time

What happens when you get to work and the power is out? Actually all the power was out except for most of the server room, my cube, and two other developers' cubes.

The power was cut to the entire building around 9. They needed to replace the transformer. Most of the day was spent watching them work. The power didn't come back on until shortly before three. What a great way to spend your second to last day.

  • Paper Fetish

Cisco has a paper fetish. It seems to have gotten worse since we got back from Maine. We seem to come home more times than not to him having chewed on some piece of paper. Just as we think we've thought of everything he'd go for and taken care of it, he finds something new.

His latest has been the wrapping of rolls of quarters. My mom had left a few rolls of quarters on the floor behind the door in the guest room. This requires him to go into the guest room, move the door some to get to a roll, pick it up, and in most cases carry it to the top of the stairs where he proceeds to eat the wrapper. The quarters are all there (we've counted every time), but there is no sign of the wrapper. (Mom, we've got 3 or 4 rolls of quarters no longer wrapped for you.) Then there was this one day, his plan didn't work so well and he managed to get himself trapped in the guest room. He didn't eat any wrappers that day even though he had plenty of opportunity.

Last night's attempt at paper was truly amazing. He managed to eat the cardboard tube out of a roll of electrical tape. The tape roll is mostly intact (a few teeth marks), but there is just a hint of cardboard left on the inside.

This weekend's mission: set up booby-traps of bad tasting paper to squash this habit.
